“No, he did not create a violent religion, soldier,” said the oldest man from the top of the stairs leading out of the cell block. “He only created a religion for violent people and that became the excuse the violence.”
“No, no. You are all wrong,” insanely screamed the man who was brought in last.
“So you say. So you say. Yes, you are going to stay here. Yes, with the rest of the rats. This is your private Hell. You committed a crime, a premeditated crime, and you have to pay for it. You did not lie for the common good and they did. They lied so others, millions of others, could benefit from it. You lied for yourself and your personal profits. They seek no profit at all but you were a naughty boy right from the beginning. You wanted it all. And, what makes it worse, you believed in your own lies and your self importance and you killed for that. You twisted the light of the goodness in to the darkness of hate. You proved that ugliness of hate and the fanatic’s religion had no limits and could be propelled to the heights the goodness could never have dreamed of. You spilled the blood of the innocent for the pleasure of the guilty, for your own pleasure. You justified slavery, discrimination, pillage, despotism, aggression and the bloodshed. You promoted the selection, believers and infidels, on the grounds of religion and you justified murder as the will of God. God! God never approved murders of innocent. Never! There is not justification for that. Never! You created a so called “religion” of lies and misleading with crime, murder and rape at its foundation. You are guilty of producing and warranting an excuse for the century’s long violence in the world. What good have you done? For whom but yourself and the other clerics and the leaders in your steps? You twisted goodness in to evil stretching it beyond the decency and honor humanity was so proud of. You betrayed the trust of your followers. You are the evil in the full meaning of this word and we will keep you here behind the thick walls and the strongest iron bars. For how long did you ask? We will keep you here for as long as it takes for all your followers to forget you and to leave the evil ways of your religion embracing integrity and graciousness of the civilized humanity. In your cell you will have as many rats as you have followers out there and, when the last rat leaves you, you can leave this cell, as well. At that time you would be allowed to join, as an equal partner, the other two that just left. We can see only this as a true course of your rehabilitation. This is your chance and, if you fail, you shell seize to exist. From now on these are your audience and the only companions for eternity. Inshallah! Allah, Akbar!”
Rats were pouring in by thousands and millions circling around the man, who was brought in last, squealing, no, chanting something that sounded as a well known prayer. They chanted the evil versus written by this man in the book he and his followers called the “Holy”. It looked like the faithful circling the shrine in a middle of a renowned square of the desert town praying hard trying to convince God to let them in to Paradise. It was the dreamlike Paradise of men full of delights and the virgins but what about women? What did they get out of it? More virgins? How could piety be rewarded with virgins? What kind of stupidity is that? Was this prayer working? Was God listening? Was there our God and theirs? Was there one God; ours or theirs? Could our God stoop that low and become their God? Could their God be, in fact, our God who changed his mind replacing good with evil? Could, could, could… God, God, God… Stop!
