We have entered the month of Av, anticipating the mourning that ensues as we remember the numerous calamities that occurred during this time. This year, in addition to all the prayers that will be offered, we are especially mindful of the 5th anniversary of the expulsion from Gush Katif. The personal and political tragedies that resulted from that disastrous action, are being felt today, with the ominous fear that more might be in the offing. We must pledge to ourselves that WE will do everything in our power to be aware, to speak out, and to ensure that NEVER AGAIN will Jews destroy the lives of their fellow Jews, bringing danger to the entire nation of Israel.

Z STREET is having an event at the Penn Hillel building on Thursday, Feb. 4th at 7:00 p.m., with Hillel's blessing. We need you to turn out and show what true PRO-ISRAEL, pro-peace folks look like. [See the earlier news release, below, if you are unsure what the heck I am talking about]
Ours IS NOT A BASH J STREET event, but an educational, inspirational and, I hope, energizing, event that will provide at least two things:
1. factual explanations for why that J Street one-note song - a Palestinian State NOW, imposed on the parties by the US and/or the international community - will be a catastrophe for Israel, hugely de-stabilizing for the Middle East, and have dire consequences beyond; and
2. why it is essential to prepare and support that preparation for a military response to Iran even as "dialogue" and jam sessions continue and economic sanctions begin.
Mitchell Bard of Myths and Facts and the Virtual Jewish Library will speak. He is extremely knowledgeable, reasonable, and a good speaker. I think he is a good choice and will present us in a positive light. The other important part of this is that it is our opportunity to minimize J St as the address associated with the mainstream Jewish organization on US colleges. This is significant.
Please come and urge others who believe Israel must do what is right to protect itself,
to join us and do what is right to protect that right.

Tamar Yonah interviews Dr. Mordechai Kedar on Israel National Radio. This is part 2 of a 3 part mini series of 'Islam 4 Infidels', with Professor of Arab studies at Bar-Ilan University, Dr. Mordechai Kedar. This show focuses on Islam's interest on Jerusalem. Muslims claim Jerusalem as their 3rd holiest city, yet 'Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran even once. Even though Jerusalem is a place where Jews, Christians and Muslims can come and pray, the fact is that Muslim leaders do not even bother to come here to visit. When Jerusalem was under Jordanian occupation until 1967, their government never bothered to make it their capital, nor did they show much interest there, leaving the Al Aqsa Mosque in dis-repair (MUST-SEE photo). United Nations Climate Change Conference will take place today at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, between December 7 and December 18, 2009.
It will mark the inauguration of the New World Order. This is a new world in which the United States (for example,) will no longer have sovereignty. It marks the end of the world as we know it. Fraudulent, illigitimate "President" Barak Husein Obama (Y'S) will sign over U.S. sovereignty to the U.N.

My lectures are about the Middle East, Israel and the ME, the struggle over Jerusalem, Antisemitism in the Islamic world, Islam and the Arab world in general, etc. Please see the list of topics below.

So much is happening for both the Toronto Rally tomorrow at Noon, at the US Consulate and also for Chicago, Aug. 9 at Daley Plaza, by Picasso, Noon to 3P.M.
A full page ad was put in by JDL Canada and our co-sponsorship of the rally tomorrow. Also, got play on WFTL, Joyce Kaufman Show today in S. Fla. about both Toronto and Chicago. Tomorrow is a first to rally against Obama and his anti-Israel politics in Canada.
Toronto is a great city that's been going through a 36 day gov. workers strike, including garbage which is just now ending.
One comment, I've heard over and over again: "How could American Jews be this stupid in supporting Obama's attack on Israel?"
Professor Hassan Diab, was fired from Carleton University, here in Canada. He is a bombing suspect for the 1980 bombing of a Paris synogague and while other professors are complaining about the firing, Bnai Brith here pushed the issue and the there is a hearing on whether he should be deported to France to stand trial. This was in Today's Toronto Star.
Also, in today's Star, as we protest Obama at the U.S. Consulate tomorrow, a former official at this consulate was sentenced yesterday in US District court in Wash., D.C. to a year in prison for expediting visas in exchange for gifts of jewelry and trips with exotic dancers.
One very important bit of information, is that the Canadian Government is solidly behind Israel, unlike Obama.

Major activists on behalf of the Land of Israel are organizing to declare that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people for over 3,000 years and should not be negotiated away. The Bible provides the clearest proof that this Land was given to the Jewish people and throughout history no other nation or people ever built a state within its borders. From the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem and until 1948, no people ever claimed that this was their land except the Jewish people. The “Mandate for Palestine,” a historical League of Nations document, laid down the Jewish legal right to settle anywhere in western Palestine, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an entitlement unaltered in international law. The notion that this land is "Palestinian" is an egregious mistake based on ignorance of history.

Dear Jewish Organizations of Indianapolis,
On October 28th, the Indiana Jewish Historical Society will be holding its 2007 Annual Meeting and Brunch at the Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. Our guest speaker will be Professor Judah Cohen, the Lou and Sybil Mervis Professor of Jewish Culture, Assistant Professor of Folklore and Ethnomusicology, and Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington. Professor Cohen is a very engaging young speaker with an extensive and fascinating musical/Jewish history background.
Professor Cohen will be presenting the program "Reinventing Jewish Worship Music: Summer Camp to the Synagogue." His talk will focus on how and why music became a integral part of Midwestern Jewish summer camps, and how that music was introduced into our congregations. We will hear the results of how those new creative Jewish worship musical selections helped shape a future generation of Jews. Music continues to be the focal point of Midwestern Jewish overnight camps Of course, musical examples will be included in Professor Cohen's presentation.
Cantor Janice Roger of Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation will give the closing remarks. She is working together with Professor Cohen on a project documenting the musical history of Goldman Union Camp Institute. The project will also be a collective study of the long-range benefits of contemporary Jewish Worship music in our Indiana Jewish youth.

Gertrude Stein lectured in Indiana during her tour 1934-1935.

Last Thursday, Eden Zada, a Jewish soldier on AWOL went and boarded an Arab bus, and opened fire on it's passengers. He was immediately labeled 'The Jewish Terrorist". But is there more to this story?
Who was Eden Zada really? What questions aren't being answered about the strange circumstances in the shooting. Investigative Reporter, Barry Chamish, joins Tamar and asks these basic questions:
-- Why did military police not find the A.W.O.L. soldier in a full month and arrest him?
-- Why did the I.D.F. allow the shooter to keep his weapon when his parents reported a
dangerous mental change and requested that he be disarmed?
-- Where was he for the month? Perhaps being brainwashed?

Teens Networking Together will host a bonfire on Saturday, June 11 for all Jewish teens in grades 9-12 at the JCC Pavilion from 9-11:30 p.m. Come enjoy an evening around the fire with your friends from across the Jewish community! TNT is a program of the Bureau of Jewish Education which brings together teens from all five Indianapolis synagogues to learn about leadership and serving the community.
