(Israelnationalnews.com) Iran continues to snub the United Nations and has produced 2.8 tons of enriched uranium, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported Monday. Iran previously enriched uranium to a five percent grade, but increased the purification level to nearly 20 percent last February.

U.S. President has claimed that harsher sanctions against Iran have affected Iran, but the latest nuclear report indicates that the sanctions, which may be hurting Iran economically, have not stopped it from enriching the key ingredient for a nuclear bomb. Americans officials said Monday they are "worried" by the IAEA report.

The IAEA added that the Islamic Republic refuses to allow UN inspectors into the country, noting it recently took away the rights of two experienced inspectors to monitor Iran’s nuclear projects after they reported that Iran conducted undeclared nuclear experiments. Iran claims it barred entry to the inspectors because their reports were not accurate.

Iran recently began operating the Bushehr nuclear reactor, in addition to the Natanz nuclear facility. It has increased production of low-enriched uranium by 15 percent since May, despite harsher sanctions placed by the United Nations and the United States.

(Israelnationalnews.com) A hundred and fifty American theater and film professionals, many of them Jews, have signed a statement of support for counterparts on Israel who are boycotting the town of Ariel.

About 50 Israeli actors announced last month that they would refuse to perform in Ariel, because it is located in the part of Israel that was restored to the State 1967. However, dozens of Israeli performers have rushed to support Ariel and said they would make it a point to perform there. Several Knesset Members from the Opposition as well as the coalition have said they would sponsor an effort to reduce funding to artists who boycott their own country.

Organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, the statement has been signed by four Pulitzer Prize winners, several recipients of Guggenheim Fellowships, a MacArthur Fellowship, a National Medal of Honor and scores of recipients of the highest U.S. acting honors, including the Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Obie and Drama Desk awards.

Some signatories include actors Cynthia Nixon and Mandy Patinkin, playwright Tony Kushner, producer and 21-time Tony winner Harold Prince, and Theodore Bikel, actor and Cameri Theater co-founder.

(Israelnationalnews.com) One of the investors in the proposed Islamic center and mosque near Ground Zero in New York was a donor to a charity that was later shut down due to its connection to Hamas.

According to an AP report on Friday, Hisham Elzanaty, 51, is among the members of a real estate partnership that paid $4.8 million for the vacant clothing store that is planned to be torn down and replaced by the Islamic center and mosque. This information was confirmed by the developer leading the project.

Critics of the Ground Zero project have pointed to a donation made by Elzanaty to the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development in 1999. According to tax records, Elzanaty gave $6,050 to the foundation, which was the largest Islamic charity in the US at the time. The Holy Land Foundation raised millions of dollars from Americans in the 1990s. The money was supposed to fund schools, orphanages and social welfare programs.

However, in 2001, the US government froze the foundation's assets and accused it of acting as a fundraiser for Hamas, which has been a recognized terrorist group in the States since 1995. Furthermore, in 2004, the foundation and some of its leaders were indicted on charges of supporting Hamas, and five were ultimately convicted.

(Israelnationalnews.com) The United States hopes to move beyond talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority to negotiations that include Syria and Lebanon as well, according to U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs Jeffery Feltman. Feltman, formerly the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, made his statements Friday in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV that was picked up by Lebanese media.

While expressing a desire to include Lebanon and Syria in the talks, Feltman noted that there are many issues standing in the way of broader Middle East negotiations.

As if to illustrate the issues Feltman was referring to, a Hizbullah weapons cache exploded in the city of Shehabiyeh on Friday. A three-story building went up in flames. According to Hizbullah, there were no casualties. The terrorist group kept media from the site.

UNIFIL troops in Lebanon said Saturday that they are waiting for the results of an investigation before drawing conclusions from the occurrence. UNIFIL is tasked with enforcing the agreement that ended the Second Lebanon War, which calls for Hizbullah to be disarmed south of the Litani River -- an area which includes Shehabiyeh.

Soros and the foundation left have launched a website designed to go after the growing Tea Party movement. Teapartytracker.org will post video interviews and blog entries gathered by folks on the false left who never grow weary of demonstrating their outrage over the very idea of a grassroots political effort overthrowing establishment Democrats and Republicans in the district of corporate criminals.

Teapartytracker.org will be sponsored by the NAACP, Think Progress, New Left Media and Media Matters for America. Think Progress is a George Soros operation connected to John Podesta’s Center for American Progress. Podesta is Clinton’s former chief of staff. Media Matters for America is the brainchild of a MoveOn consultant and Podesta’s Center for American Progress. Soros is a major supporter of MoveOn.

On July 13, the NAACP unanimously passed a resolution repudiating the Tea Party for alleged racism. The resolution followed accusations that the Tea Party had accosted members the Congressional Black Caucus as they traipsed the district of criminals mall on their way to vote for Obamacare, a grand larceny scam cooked up by large corporations. “Civil rights icon John Lewis was spit on, while Congressman Emanuel Cleaver was called the ‘N’ word and openly gay Congressman Barney Frank was called an ugly anti-gay slur,” a press released issued by the NAACP claims.

(Israelnationalnews.com) U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton backtracked on Friday from her previous pledge that “Israel’s right to exist in safety as a Jewish state, with defensible borders and an undivided Jerusalem as its capital, secure from violence and terrorism, must never be questioned.”

Despite her three-year-old promise during her unsuccessful campaign to win the Democratic party nomination to run for president, she did not give a direct answer to a question Friday concerning her stand on the “undivided capital.”

Instead, she responded, "Jerusalem is a contested emotional issue for both Israelis and Palestinians. I want to support what is the outcome that the parties can agree to. And I think both parties know that they're going to have to engage on this issue and come to an understanding and a resolution so that Jerusalem becomes not a flashpoint but the symbol of peace and cooperation.”

She reiterated an oft-repeated phrase by American politicians that they are “committed to a safe and secure Israel.” Secretary Clinton added, "I think the political negotiations need to be matched with changes on the ground, confidence building measures and interactions between Israelis and Palestinians."

Her refusal to confirm her campaign pledge is not without precedent. U.S. President Barack Obama, during his campaign, also said he backed an “undivided Jerusalem” as Israel’s “eternal capital,” but following a furious Arab reaction, he tempered his comments 24 hours later, saying he meant that Israel and the Palestinian Authority must find a solution on their conflicting claims over the city.

He later blamed "poor phrasing" for the misunderstanding.

(Israelnationalnews.com) Anti-Israel racist hate groups are mushrooming on the Facebook social networking Internet website, with few controls being exerted to stem what is threatening to eventually become a possible riptide sponsored by and catering to anti-Semites and Muslims. At present there are nearly 200 such pages, with hundreds of thousands of members declaring their support in foul language for the trend. 

One of the most recent, a  group entitled “F—k Israel” (expletive deleted –ed.) – self-categorized as a “Local Business” has been allowed to remain despite at least four complaints filed against it by Facebook members who say they find it offensive and abusive.

The group features numerous posts, most relating to Gaza or Judea and Samaria, and cursing the State of Israel and America. Also featured are posts from the official website of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization. Another post of note is the ridiculous accusation that “Israel did 9/11 … with all the evidence!!”

Under a photo album that depicts a Palestinian Authority Arab bride and groom allegedly getting married while under attack – presumably by Israeli Defense Forces – at least four comments are listed, all saying “F—k Israel” and “F—k Jew.” None have been removed or even flagged for offensive or abusive language. Four people “liked” the photo, which appeared to show a very young woman being wedded to a clearly much older man. The LIFE watermark logo appears in the lower left-hand corner of the photo, indicating that it has been reproduced from LIFE Magazine.

Another photo appears to depict a shower of white pellets raining down from the sky in from of a building with a basketball hoop set up in front., each being chased by a trail of white smoke. No soldiers, no bombs or other weapons are seen. The caption reads: “They cannot hide the truth about what happened, the picture shows the use of white phosphorus against children in UNRWA schools in Gaza. Who are the terrorists? It’s pretty obvious… !!!!!”

More than 46,200 have clicked on the “Like” button to indicate their support for the hatred on this blatantly anti-Semitic group's page.

(Israelnationalnews.com) More polls point to a GOP tidal wave of victory in November’s Congressional elections and U.S. President Barack Obama facing the humility of being a one-term president.

Just when Democrats thought ”things could not get worse,” even surveys from center-left media such as CNN show that the president may repeat former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s embarrassment of being dumped after one term. An Associated Press report posted on YouTube states that Americans do not believe President Obama’s optimism.

The thunderbolt that struck the Democratic party last week was a Gallup Poll that gave the Republican party a record 10-point margin over the Democrats in a survey that simply asked respondents if they prefer a Democratic or Republican candidate. The GOP edge is the largest in 68 years, dating back to 1942, when the first similar poll was taken.

Similar result in polls by CBS, reflecting dissatisfaction with President Obama’s handling of the economy, health care and the oil spill, indicate that his efforts to impose an agreement on the Palestinian Authority and Israel will not turn the tide.

The CBS “pop poll” last Thursday revealed that two-thirds of Americans give President Obama a “failure” rating for mis-managing the economy, while nearly 60 percent also fail him for foreign policies. On health care, the failure rating soared to more than 78 percent, and 57.5 percent failed him for what used to be called the war on terrorism.

(Israelnationalnews.com) For those seeking hints of American partiality to one side or the other as the direct Netanyahu-Abbas talks begin in Washington, yesterday’s daily State Department briefing provided several.

State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley devoted a good portion of his time to the topic of the talks that are to begin today, and was even asked what was the shape of the table to be used by the sides.

Asked by a reporter about the impact on the talks of the fatal terrorist attack and the intention of some Jews to resume construction, Crowley continued the questioner’s tit-for-tat tone and equated between the “extremists on all sides.” 

“We are gratified,” Crowley said, “that notwithstanding efforts by extremists on all sides to take actions that impede progress,” the talks will continue. 

Crowley then criticized the murders, saying, “Yesterday’s violence was not an act of courage; it was an act of cowardice. What kind of courage does it take to murder a pregnant woman?” but in the next breath he said, “Hamas is a captive of the conflict.”

(Israelnationalnews.com) Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, was asked in an interview whether he would consider a run for the US presidency – and did not reject the idea.

“[I]t is a very great honor that anybody would even think of asking,” Bolton told the interviewer at the Daily Caller. “I’m obviously not a politician. I’ve never run for any federal elective office at all and, you know, it is something that would obviously require a great deal of effort,” he said.

“What I do think, though, and what concerns me, is the lack of focus generally in the national debate about national security issues. Now, I understand the economy is in a ditch and people are concerned about it, but our adversaries overseas are not going to wait for us to get our economic house in order.”

When asked if this meant he would consider running, Bolton did not give a clear answer but seemed to hint that such a bid would at least place national security issues at the top of the public agenda.

“In the sense that I want to make sure that not only in the Republican Party, but in the body politic as a whole, people are aware of threats that remain to the United States,” he said. “You know, as somebody who writes op-eds and appears on the television, I appreciate as well as anybody that…there is a limit to what that accomplishes. Whereas, some governor from some state in the middle of the country announces for president they get enormous coverage even if their views are utterly uninformed on major issues.”

As Israelis and Palestinians prepare to visit Washington next week to begin direct peace talks, it's worth recalling what refugees the Palestinians are—in Arab countries.

Last week, Lebanon's parliament amended a clause in a 1946 law that had been used to bar the 400,000 Palestinians living in the country from taking any but the most menial jobs. "I was born in Lebanon and I have never known Palestine," the AP quoted one 45-year-old Palestinian who works as a cab driver. "We want to live like Lebanese. We are human beings and we need civil rights."

The dirty little secret of the Arab world is that it has consistently treated Palestinians living in its midst with contempt and often violence. In 1970, Jordan expelled thousands of Palestinian militants after Yasser Arafat attempted a coup against King Hussein. In 1991, Kuwait expelled some 400,000 Palestinians working in the country as punishment for Arafat's support for Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War.

For six decades, Palestinians have been forced by Arab governments to live in often squalid conditions so that they could serve as propaganda tools against Israel, even as millions of refugees elsewhere have been repatriated and absorbed by their host countries. This month's vote still falls short of giving Palestinian Lebanese the rights they deserve, including citizenship. But it's a reminder of the cynicism of so much Arab pro-Palestinian propaganda, and the credulity of those who fall for it.  [end]

(Israelnationalnews.com) All eyes are becoming focused on U.S. President Barack Obama as Israeli and Palestinian Authority leaders practice their rhetoric before Thursday’s scheduled “direct talks,” which for the time being will span only one day.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu promised his Likud party supporters Monday, “You don't need to worry… Who knows better than you what Likud is willing to do to achieve eternal peace? Real peace is not the break between wars or the break between one terror attack and the next."

On the other side, PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad asked, “What kind of state does Mr. Netanyahu have in mind when he says 'Palestinian state'?" We are approaching that moment of reckoning.”

The American strategy for years has been to encourage talks that would implement the theory of “adaptive expectation,” whereby anticipation of an event—in this case a peace pact—causes it to happen.

The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing.

The decision at least temporarily scuttles what was supposed to be the signature trial of a major al-Qaeda figure under a reformed system of military commissions. And it comes practically on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the attack, which killed 17 sailors and wounded dozens when a boat packed with explosives ripped a hole in the side of the warship in the port of Aden.

In a filing this week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the Justice Department said that "no charges are either pending or contemplated with respect to al-Nashiri in the near future."

As the son of a Hamas co-founder who became a Christian, a spy for Israel and a consultant to the Holy Land Foundation terror-finance trial, Mosab Hassan Yousef offers a rare perspective on the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood – at once the spawn of nearly every major Islamic terrorist group and of "mainstream" operatives in the U.S. such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Yousef, who recently was granted asylum in the U.S. after the Department of Homeland Security tried to deport him, told WND in a telephone interview Americans must understand that the ultimate goal of the highly influential Brotherhood is not terrorism but to establish a global Islamic state over the entire world.

"If they can establish this in a peaceful manner, that's fine," he said. "But they are required by the Quran to establish this global Islamic state on the rubble of every civilization, every constitution, every government."

As a group, Americans of the Muslim faith give Barack Obama the highest job approval rating of any major religion.

A new Gallup Poll of 275,000 adults this morning finds that while the Democrat's overall approval ratings have dropped across all faiths -- even those Americans without any -- Muslims continue to approve of him the most. And you'll never guess which faith based in Utah thinks the least of the 44th president's job.

Seventy-eight percent of Muslims (down from 86% after Obama's inauguration) now approve of the president's 19-month job performance, while less than one-in-four Mormons (24%) do (down from 43%).

Catholics' job approval has fallen from 67% to 50%. Protestants' from 58% to 43%. Jews' from....

(Israelnationalnews.com) A former nuclear inspector for the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is warning that Iran already has the capacity to produce a nuclear bomb.

Olli Heinonen revealed the information in an interview with the French Le Monde magazine on Thursday.

According to Reuters, quoting the interview, Heinonen was an expert on Iran’s nuclear program during his tenure as the deputy director-general of the IAEA, heading the agency’s nuclear safeguards arm.

The Finnish official said the Islamic Republic currently possesses three tons of low-enriched uranium which has the potential to be used in building an atomic bomb.

Interviewed just prior to stepping down from his post this August for personal reasons, Heinonen said, “In theory, it is enough to make one or two nuclear weapons. But it makes no sense to go all the way to the final step, when one only has just enough material for two weapons.”
